Our
prelicense real estate class satisfies the required 75 hours of training necessary to take the Georgia Real
Estate License Exam, as prescribed by the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
There are three different schedules of
classes (Day, Night, and Weekend).
The First day of class, you will
receive two books: Modern Real Estate Practice 17th
edition (and) Georgia Real Estate: Practice and Law
The
Georgia Real Estate Commission requires all schools to notify each student that
our Prelicense Sales Course, Post License Sales Course, and our Continuing
Education Courses have been approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission as
meeting the requirements of Georgia Laws relating to required courses. The
Prelicense Sales Course satisfies all the in-class training you will need to
qualify to take the Georgia Real Estate License exam. Our school’s next
renewal will be December 31, 2011.
Our instructors, Mary Burns, Louise
Hudder, Roy Jones, George Lakes, Liz Vanover, Paul Wiley, and Frank Wood, have
been approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission to teach these
courses. These instructors will be teaching all classes with any of them
substituting when needed.
The Georgia Real Estate Commission
requires that no recruiting for employment opportunities for any real estate
brokerage firm is allowed in this class or on the school premises. Report
promptly any effort to recruit by anyone to Bobby Wood, School Director, at
(770)449-4410 or 4980 Nelson Brogdon Boulevard, Sugar Hill, GA 30518, or the
Georgia Real Estate Commission.
Entrance qualifications and standards of
completion will not be based upon race, color, sex, religion, national origin,
familial status, or handicap.
It is the Policy of A Bob Wood Real Estate Academy to notify the
Georgia Real Estate Commission upon meeting the
commission’s attendance requirements and achieving a score of 75% on the final exam. You
must have an average of 75% or better on all of your daily assignments to
qualify to take our school’s final exam. The Georgia Real Estate
Commission requires the transmission of all students’ date of graduation through
their online program.
If the student makes less than 75% on his/her final
exam, we will schedule
a retake exam at no additional cost. An optional cram course is offered each session between the
final exam and the retake exam. Many students preparing for the retake exam
or the state exam find this course helpful. Check the school calendar
for cram course offerings. The cost of the optional cram class is $85. Only one
retake exam will be offered for all eligible students following your final exam. The retake
exam will be given on the Saturday morning following a minimum of a five day
study period after your final exam. We can have no exception dates for
your make up. All students must take the retake exam at the same
session.
If the student makes less than 75% on the retake exam, the course
must be repeated to retake the test. This is a Real Estate Commission
Requirement.
The
Georgia Real Estate Commission is very strict regarding the required number
of hours for the prelicense course. This course requires seventy-five (75)
hours of in-class instruction excluding breaks.
For Day and Evening classes, this sales course consists
of eleven (11) weeks of classes meeting
twice weekly for four (4) hours per class. For Weekend classes, this sales
course consists of seven (7) weekends meeting six hours (6) on on each Saturday
and Sunday. All Classes Begin Promptly at Scheduled Times.
For day and evening classes, the ga real
estate pre-license course has an additional 7.5 hours of instruction beyond
the required 75 hours. As such, you may miss a maximum of 7.5 hours
of instruction during the day/evening course session. For day and
eveining classes, this means you may miss a maximum of 2 evenings or any combination
of time up to 7.5 hours. For weekend real estate license classes, the
course has an additional 9 hours of instruction beyond the required 75 hours. As such, you may miss a maximum
of 9 hours of instruction during the weekend real estate license course session. For
weekend classes, this means you may miss a maximum of 1.5 days or
any combination of time up to 9 hours.
No student may transfer to another session or class after
the first week of class is completed.
If you have not completed seventy-five (75) class hours, we will
be unable to notify the Real Estate Commission that you have passed. If 75
hours are not attended in this course, you cannot carry any time into another of
our courses, and you would have to attend another full 75 hours to get credit.
You must
attend a minimum of 75 hours in class to successfully complete the course, or
you are required to repeat the course.
The classes provided by A Bob Wood
Real Estate Academy require intensive study and
classroom participation. We cover a great deal of material in a short period
of time, otherwise our school would have to meet over a longer period
of time. Please be considerate of you fellow students and do not bring
any guests or children into the classroom, into the building, or on the
premises unless you have been given express written permission by the School
Director.
NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN THE CLASSROOM. ALL CELL PHONES
SHOULD BE LEFT IN YOUR CAR OR TURNED OFF DURING CLASS.
Instructors have
the authority to change the class
date and/or times due to holidays falling during the session. If such a
situation occurs during your class, the instructor will notify students the first
class of the change in class date and/or time. If the first class
falls on such a holiday, this change will be made available online or by
contacting the school directly. Consult the member of administration
conducting the orientation with any questions.
In the event of inclement
weather, classes will be cancelled if the Gwinnett County School System
closes. If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, the instructor
will announce the make up class and time at the next scheduled
class.
Sugar Hill parking policy All students attending the Sugar Hill
campus of A Bob Wood Real Estate Academy should park in the upper level spaces
located behind the building or in the spaces beside the building. Parking
spaces located in front of the lower level are reserved for the real estate
